Rstudio Troubleshooting

When accessing rstudio.it.ilstu.edu – sometimes the profile level settings get corrupted and prevent the ability to run or install packages. To resolve this issue, you will need to run a command that resets your profile back to the default settings.

  1. Click Terminal at the bottom left, and run the command “rm -rf R”  (this will remove all settings for your profile)
  2. Log off at the top right (this will prompt a reload R? question, say yes and let it reload. 

Printing for Faculty and Staff

The following 3 printers are available for all Faculty and Staff to use:   (and should be automatically installed and available on Windows based computers)

  • IT-OU202-Xerox – This is the most feature rich printer that is the main office
  • IT-OU202D-Brother7065 – This is a black and white printer in the mailroom
  • IT-OU202D-Brother3770-Color – This is the only color printer currently in the department (and should be used sparingly)

How to Manually Install:

In Windows:

  1. Go to the start menu and type “\\castprint.ad.ilstu.edu”
  2. Double click on any of the printers that start with “IT” that you would like to install

In OSX:

  • IT-OU202-Xerox
    • Install the “Xerox Altalink B8065” full driver package for your version of OS
    • The IP is 172.20.51.66
  • IT-OU202D-Brother7065
    • Install the “Brother 7065DN” full driver package for your version of OS
    • The IP is 172.20.51.86
  • IT-OU202D-Brother3770-Color
    • Install the “Brother MFC-L3770CDW Print Driver” for your version of OS
    • The IP is 172.20.51.67

Printing for Students

There are 3 printers available for student use in the Old Union 1st floor computer labs:  OU131, OU134, and OU140.  When you are printing from either a VM pool or the physical labs, pick the “OU Printer Black” printer from available printers list.  Then go to any of our 3 printer stations and login then swipe with your Redbird Card and it will automatically show any job you recently sent to the printer.  You can print to any Pharos capable printer on campus with this method.
